dc.description.abstractRenewable energy systems can be divided into induction generator type and permanent magnet (PM) generator type. In particular, PM generator can be directly connected to turbine without mechanical gear, which is advantageous in terms of maintenance, system efficiency and size. Therefore, research on PM generators is actively and continuously carried out. In this paper, design and characteristics analysis of PM generator according to characteristics of turbine were performed. In the case of the wave energy converter connected to breakwater, in which the input speed-torque continuously changes, it is necessary not only to satisfy a wide operating range and high efficiency but also to be robust in terms of maintenance. Therefore, in this paper, a PM generator suitable for the environmental conditions of the wave energy converter connected to breakwater was designed and the characteristic analysis of the PM generator performed according to turbine characteristics.-
