dc.description.abstract | This paper presents a cavitation tunnel hydro-acoustic experiments with the model propeller of Newcastle University’s research vessel. The tests are performed within the frame work of round robin test campaign organized by the Noise CoP (Community of Practice) of Hydro Testing Forum (HTF). To investigate the propeller noise characteristics, tests were carried out under various inflow and loading conditions, which were determined by the Noise CoP of HTF. The propeller noiseexperiments were conducted in the KRISO Large Cavitation Tunnel (LCT). Test set-up and noise measurement procedures of the KRISO LCT are introduced. The propeller open water performance, propeller cavitation observation and related noise measurements results are presented. Especially, measured propeller noise spectra are presented along with the cavitation observation and the relation between the cavitation patterns and noise are analyzed. The comparison results according tothe various effects like inflow, cavitation number, loading conditions are also be described. These results will be compared and analyzed with the experiment results of other test facilities in the future. The comparing results acquired in many different testing facilities will provide a valuable information in the field of propeller noise model test. | - |
