dc.description.abstract | Number of Studies on buckling of thin cylindrical pressure vessel with a large ratio of diameter-thickness such as submarine pressure hull, have been carried out in the naval and ocean engineering field. On the other hands, limited number of studies had been carried out in the field of offshore plants where the usage frequency is low for pressure cylinder in deep sea, while the thick pressure cylinder is being studied mainly in the field of nuclear energy. Especially, many previous researches provide different equations for ultimate load capacity estimation, so it is not easy to select the appropriate equations for the designing. Thus, it is important to understand the derivation process of such equations to find the most proper ones. The objective of this study is to analyse the derivation of equations and to extract/obtain the ultimate loads for thick cylindrical pressure vessel through investigating and analyzing the equations in both domestically and internationally published papers. | - |
