dc.description.abstractIn this study, sidewall greenwater event around a FPSO is numerically investigated. Numerical methods in frequency and time domains are applied to predict the sidewall greenwater occurrence based on potential flow analysis. Frequency-domain method utilizes higher-order boundary element method using wave Green function. Time-domain method solves 1st order 2nd order boundary value problem by applying finite element method. Two FPSO models are considered. First, relative wave elevations were analyzed to detect the sidewall greenwater events. Focus is on the effect of location and wave heading on relative wave elevations. In addition, direct comparison of motion responses and relative wave elevation with experimental data were carried out.-
