dc.description.abstractRecently, demands of ultra-large containerships which have large bow-flare area have increased. Risk of bow flare slamming also has increased and it should be carefully investigated in design stage. In present study, bow-flare impact loadson a containership are considered. To this end, experimental data conducted by WILS JIP-III is analyzed and classification codes are adapted to estimate bow-flare slamming impact pressure. Using this process, characteristics of bow-flare slamming loads are verified and governing parameters of bow-flare impact load are defined.-
