dc.description.abstractThis paper numerically investigated turning performance in waves of a S175 container ship. In the numerical simulation, wave drift forces were included as solving maneuvering equations of motion. The modular-type model (MMG model) is adopted for maneuvering analysis and frequency-domain seakeeping program based on Rankine panel method is used for computations of wave drift force. The developed method was validated by comparing turning test results with existing experimental data. Focus is on the turning performances under various wave conditions.-
