dc.description.abstract | In this study, we have adopted the Floating LNG Bunkering Terminal (FLBT) which is designed to receive the LNG from LNGCs and to transfer LNG to LNG bunkering Shuttles in side-by-side moored condition. Target operating filed is located approximately 15km offshore of Busan. Rapid current speed of Korea strait will be the biggest challenge to side-by-side transfer operation. A model test were performed in the ocean engineering basin at the Korean Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering (KRISO) to verify safety of berthing/deberthing operation. The characteristics of the motion responses and environmental forces in berthing operation are examined with various current speed, berthing speeds and wave headings. The result will be used to make berthing standards and to help estimate tug forces when bunkering vessels are berthing to the FLBT. | - |
