dc.description.abstractThis thesis introduces a new method for the ice load generation in time domain analysis. The new method is based on the concept of ice load spectrum with the mean ice load coefficient. Recently, the interest on the Arctic offshore structures for exploring and exploitation of the Arctic region has been increased due to the better accessibility to the Arctic region which is caused by the global warming. In the design stage of the Arctic offshore structure, the ice load consideration is essential. Particularly, in the design and evaluation of the station-keeping system for the Arctic offshore structures, the consideration of the ice load acting on the offshore structure in the time domain is crucial to ensure thesecurity and safety of the station-keeping system. There are several methods to consider the ice load in the time domain. However, most of them are the computationally heavy method because these are considering every ice floe in the sea ice field to calculate the ice load acting on the vessel. In this thesis, a new approach to consider the ice load acting on the Arctic vessel in the time domain is suggested, and its feasibility is examined with the ice load data acquired from the one of the heavy computation method, GEM(GPU-event-mechanics).-
