dc.description.abstract | Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering(KRISO) is working on developing a high performance DP thruster for the model test because the need for extreme environmental external force conditions has increased, such as the ice DP model test for the Artic condition. As the first step of the development, a performance analysis was carried out for duct propellers as DP thruster. Using commercial RANS solver, BP(Bollard Pull) test, POW(Propeller Open Water) test and viscous flow around thruster analysis were performed. 19A-mod, 19A and 37 ducts were used for performance analysis and 19A-mod/19A ducts in forward rotation condition and 19A/37 ducts in reverse rotation condition showed similar performance results, respectively. In the further work, it will be compared with experimental results from model test and the research on the propeller design as well as the influence by the duct shape will be continuously developed. | - |
