dc.description.abstractThe basic geometry of the jacket structure is determined in accordance with the classification rules and general jacket design process. In this study, the jacket structure of the 20K-ton topside was designed by rule scantling design process and evaluated the structural strength. The specific dimensions of legs and members of the jacket were designed to meet material strength standards such as slenderness, buckling, and hydrostatic pressure collapse. To evaluate the structural safety of the designed jacket structure against the external loads, structural analysis of the beam element jacket model was performed. Wind, wave and current loads under extreme environmental condition were applied and the unity check ratio was checked for all members. In order to determine the accuracy of the jacket structure analysis method and results, a comparative verification study between in-house code and commercial code for structural analysis was carried out. This jacket design process that includes rule scantling and strength evaluation techniques discussed in this paper can be effective the total design cycle and increasing the reliability of the final structure.-
