dc.description.abstract | Offshore jacket structure is a steel frame which supports the topside of a fixed offshore platform. It is one of the favored type for production of carbon hydrate resources at shallow waters. Since fixed offshore platform is installed and operated in a specified area during the design life span, a high level of structural integrity is required. However, most of researches on design optimization of a offshore jacket structure considered only one objective function, mainly to reduce the total mass of the structure, due to theoretical and computational difficulties which lacks thorough investigation and understanding of structural responses of resulting optimal design. Therefore, in this research, we perform a multi-objective design optimization of a offshore jacket structure under compression by topside weight and environmental loads. In the formulation of design optimization, we utilized evolution algorithm with the aid of metamodel of optimal prognosis for the purpose of multi-objective optimization. Furthermore we performed a design sensitivity analysis to evaluate the effect of design variables on the performance measures. | - |
