dc.description.abstractn order to investigate the effect of air emission holes manufactured near warship propeller L.E., the model propeller with through holes was manufactured. 2 blades have through holes near L.E. and 3 blades have smooth L.E. surface. After the inclined-shaft dynamometer setup in LCT, the cavitation tests were conducted at the inclined angle of 0° & 6°. Cavitation behavior on the suction side shows a big difference between the blades with and without through holes. While the blades with through holes generate the sheet caviation from L.E on the suction side, the blades with smooth surface generate the similar cavitation to cloud cavitation from after mid-chord. The full-scale cavitation shows the similar behavior to that of the blades with through holes. To understand the difference of the cavitation behavior, the numerical analysis using CFD is conducted. The result of the numerical analysis shows the sharp pressure drop at around through hole on the suction side. It is proved that the through holes can affect the cavitation generation. In the future, the cavitation behavior should be analyzed numerically on the basis of the present experimental results-
