Abstract
Users in the automotive and aviation industries utilize the standard for the sharing of technical documents to assure an interoperability between heterogeneous systems. There is a need to share technical documents in the shipping industry. The integrated information model for ship life-cycle was proposed to correspond with the need. We also need an application program which have functions of input, store, search, publish, and management of data. The data occur throughout the ship life-cycle based on the proposed integrated information model. In this paper, we adopted partially the concept of software development methodology based on information model. The model driven engineering is a software development methodology that focuses on creating and exploiting domain models, which are conceptual models of all the topics related to a specific problem. We focused on the development of information application on ship operation phase, and it has a user-experienced interface for shipyards and shipping companies. Users in shipyards and shipping companies could systematically process data on operation phase which was collected by operation and maintenance of ships with developed program. The system can also be used to manage fleet and establish maintenance strategies.
