dc.description.abstract | Slamming load acting on the bow of FPSO one of essential considerations in the design of the FPSO. It is generally recognized that the slamming loads due to breaking wave are larger than the slamming loads due to non-breaking wave. Recently, KRISO conducted a series of model test for the slamming load due to breaking wave acting on the bow of FPSO. The model tests were performed in the KRISO three-dimensional ocean engineering basin using a 1/50 scale model. The focusing wave method was implemented to generate breaking waves in the ocean basin. Fifteen force sensors were equipped on the starboard side bow region of the FPSO. Twenty times repeated tests are performed for each of the three different incidence angles, and the measured slamming impact loads are compared. Based on this, uncertainty about the slamming impact load due to breaking waves is discussed. | - |
