dc.description.abstractIn the present study, the effect and efficiency of PBCF installed on the propeller of a 176K bulker currently in service are investigated under the condition of a propeller open water (POW) through a series of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulation. In the POW tests, the increase of efficiency due to installing the PBCF are estimated numerically and a working mechanism of the PBCF is investigated through analyzing the hub vortex structure behind the propeller. The results of CFD simulation are validated via comparison with the model tests conducted at KRISO (Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering).-
