dc.description.abstract | Currently, the Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean Engineering(KRISO) is carrying out researches on the production of major core parts and preparation for domestic demonstration to construct a 1MW class Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion(OTEC) plant in the equatorial region. For the 1MW OTEC plant, more than 1.5 tons of deep sea water will be acquired per second, and the deep sea water used in OTEC will be discharged to about 11 ℃, which is low temperature even after being discharged. The equator is in a region where there is a need for constant cooling and ice manufacturing, but there is a shortage of demand and supply due to lack of technology and resources. In this study, the analysis and performance analysis of the cooling - ice - making cycle, which can be supplied to the equatorial region using some OTEC effluent, were performed. We also compared the basic cycle using the same heat source and the basic cycle using the air heat source. | - |
