dc.description.abstract | Samsung Heavy Industries, ZENTECH E&C, Inha University and KRISO are doing DMMS project(Development of Multi-point Mooring System with Core Design and Installation Technology for Deep Sea Floating Structures) by Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The target ship in the project is a SEMI(Semi-submersible ship) with sixteen spread taut mooring lines. The target site is GOM(Gulf of Mexico) area. L×B×D×d of the ship is 86.92 m×86.92 m×52.9 m×22 m. Total displacement is 58,748 ton and water depth is 1857 m. KRISO carried out a model test in Ocean Engineering Basin to evaluate the performance of the SEMI. The model was made by FRP and wood with 1/70 scale and the truncated wires and prestretched springs were applied as a taut mooring system to match offset curve and pretensions. Regular RAO and irregular cases with wave, wind and current were tested and ship motions and mooring line tensions were measured. In irregular cases, the tests were conducted for wave only, wind only, current only, wave+current and all to investigate the combined effect of environmental forces. Ship responses were also compared in collinear and noncollinear directions of wave, wind and current. | - |
