dc.description.abstract | In order to design a station-keeping system for offshore structures operating in the Arctic sea, ice load acting on an offshore structure should be estimated. In general, tide, current, wind wave considered as the main sources of the external force in the marine environment, but in the polar region, the ice load due to the interaction of the sea ice and the structure is so large in most cases that it should be a priority. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to construct and verify a system to measure the ice load acting on offshore structures to understand the interaction between ocean structure and ice. The model tests ware carried out in the ice tank of Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering(KRISO). The pack ice channels were generated with 80% of ice concentration. While a FPSO model was towed with various angles from 0 to 15 degrees, ice load values acting on the model ware measured. The measured results with various incidence angle of ice drift are discussed in the study. | - |
