In order to design a station-keeping system for offshore structures operating in the Arctic sea, ice load acting on the vessel should be considered. In general, current, winds and waves are considered as the main sources for the externalforces for offshore structures in the marine environment. However, in the Arctic sea, the ice load due to the interaction of the sea ice and the offshore structure is so large thus it should be considered as the priority external force for the Arctic offshore structure. The aim of this study is the development of a new experimental procedure for measuring ice load acting on the Arctic offshore structure with different ice drifting angle. In order to setup the experimental procedure, a new ice load measurement was developed and a set of model tests were carried out with an Arctic FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) in the ice tank of Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO). The pack ice channels were generated with 80% of ice concentration and ice floes in regular and irregular shape are generated separately. While the FPSO model was towed at 0.081m/sec (1knot in actual scale) with ice drifting angles from 0 to 15 degrees. During the model test, global ice load acting on the vessel was measured. The measured ice loads with different ice drifting angle are presented and discussed in this paper.-
