dc.description.abstract | In this paper, two prototype mooring lines were modelled as experimental models in the ocean engineering basin of KRISO. As the restoring capacity of the mooring system is most important, we initially tested various experimental candidatesin the air. The basic system was composed of the spring-chain-spring system, while the chain part was replaced to the wire when the weight of the prototype mooring line is quite small. The small discrepancies in total weight were adjusted with small ballasting weights. The top and bottom springs adjusted the stiffness of the mooring line at the near and far offset ranges. Additionally, we briefly checked the sensitivity of restoring capacity with a quite small difference in the anchor point. | - |
