dc.description.abstract | In response to the increasing world energy demand, interest in renewable energy development is increasing by the 4th industrial revolution and the policy for the renewable energy. Recently, KRISO(Korea Research Institute of Ships & Ocean engineering) is conducting the development of the OTEC(Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion), which is one of the renewable energy using the ocean energy. The OTEC plant of this study is the world’s first 1MW class and it will be tested in the East Sea this year. After demonstration test, the plant will be moved and installed in Kiribati for long term operation. One of the core components in the plant is the turbine, which is designed based on the Kiribati condition so that the turbine will be operated at the off-design condition in the East Sea. Therefore, a study on the off-design operation of the 1MW OTEC turbine is conducted using the numerical analysis based on the inhomogeneous two phase model. | - |
