Maritime traffic analysis has been attracted increasing attention due to their importance for the safety and efficiency of maritime operations. The first step of maritime traffic analysis is the management of ship trajectory data and various analysis tasks are started based on these trajectories. The ship trajectory data is gathered from AIS (Automatic Identification System). Also, the transmission of AIS messages has increased according to the increase in maritime traffic volume. Depending on the traffic situation in the harbor, the trajectory data is generated on average more than 1 million messages per day. In general, the maritime traffic analysis tasks use the trajectory data of 6 months over and the database system is used to analyze huge trajectory data in most cases. There are many types of DBMS, however, it has different features for each and there are differences in performance depending on the type of data stored. In this paper, we define the requirements of DBMS for maritime traffic analysis and compare the performances each DBMS. And then, we compared the query times for INSERT and SELECT of trajectories. Finally, we review the database system for effective trajectoryanalysis based on the experimental results.-
