dc.description.abstractIn this paper, the effect of the heading control with stern tunnel thrusters when four vessels are moored side by side was evaluated experimentally. A series of model tests were performed in KRISO ocean engineering with 1 year return period wave and current conditions. A floating type LNG bunkering terminal(FLBT) was moored with a LNG carrier(LNGC) and two LNG bunkering shuttles(LNGBSs) with mooring ropes and pneumatic fenders. The equivalent tunnel thrusters were installed at the FLBT’s skeg in order to control the mean yaw angle of FLBT. The fundamental PD contorl was adopted. We changed the desired yaw angle from +10deg to 30deg, against to the incident current angle. Finally, we analyed the motion responses of four vessels and the structural responses on the ship-to-ship mooring system to evaluate the effectiveness of the heading contorl system quantitatively.-
