dc.description.abstract | Numerical simulation was performed for the float-over installation of a topside on a semi-submersible hull(SSH). First of all, the numerical results were directly compared with model test results which were performed in ocean engineering basin (OEB) of KRISO. The validation was carried out based on the dynamic loads of the Jacking systems and LMUs as well as the motion responses of the deck transportation vessel(DTV) and SSH. The dynamic loads acting on the Jacking systems and LMUs are directly compared between the model test and the calculations in terms of vertical and horizontal forces. The comparison results showed reasonable agreement despite the high stiffness problem of the Jacking systems and LMUs. In this study, sensitivity studies were performed to investigate the mating loads for the float-over installation of a topside on a SSH. The mating analysis was performed according to BoD several load transfer conditions. The discussion was made on the effects of stiffness on the interface unit and the fender system. | - |
