dc.description.abstractThis study considers the wave impact load on a vertical circular cylinder by breaking wave. The model tests were performed for the wave impact loads by breaking wave in the 2D wave flume. For the wave generations, a focusing wave method was applied in this study. The wave impact loads were measured by slightly changing the model location with regards to the position of breaking wave. The model tests were repeated 20 times for each wave conditions. In this study, air bubble effects were investigated by interpreting the time histories of the wave impact loads. From the results, the air bubble effects increases as the breaking wave developed more at the position of the cylinder. Also, characteristics of the wave impact loads were additionally investigated in this study.-
