dc.description.abstract | An OWC(Oscillating Water Column) has been constructed near Jeju to develope wave energy production and technologies. To investigate its feasibility as a test-site for marine equipment, we conducted experiments using a multi-beam echo sounder and a single-beam scanning sonar. Through this preliminary investigation, we found conditions necessary for evaluating performance of marine equipment including accessibility of the OWC near ports and use of support vessels or ships. As a result, 3-D point cloud data and 2-D acoustic images were obtained via the echo sounder and scanning sonar, respectively. Facilities and devices that improve the OWC as test-site were suggested. Lastly, five applications that can be used have been derived based on this investigation. | - |
