dc.description.abstractIn this study, a methodology for ice load evaluation with an ice model basin, which is acting on an Arctic offshore structure, was investigated. Due to the global climate change and decrement of sea ice coverage area, the need for the development of the Arctic natural resources and the northern sea route has been increased. In these circumstances, new concepts and hull form designs for Arctic offshore structures have been studied, and new methodologies for the design of the Arctic offshore structure have been developed. The evaluation of the ice load acting on the offshore structure is the essential component for the design of the Arctic offshore structure. The experimental ice load evaluation for Arctic offshore structures is preferred compared with the numerical evaluation because of the complexity of physical ice properties. In this study, a methodology for experimental ice load evaluation in KRISO’s ice tank is shown with a set of experimental results, which is the evaluation of the ice load acting on an Arctic FPSO.-
