Water pollution problems and interest in energy and the environment are increasing due to the increase in population and rapid industrialization around the world, and high efficiency, low energy, and eco-friendly water (such as seawater desalination and agricultural water) industries are drawing attention as new future growth industries. The reverse osmosis (RO) process, which is a major technology for seawater desalination, has economic and environmental problems due to thehigh operating costs of high-pressure (60 to 80 bar) operation and complex pretreatment processes such as cohesion, filtration and chemical cleaning processes to minimize membrane contamination, and the energy consumption (kWh/m3) has beengreatly increased as the concentration of incoming water increases, so that energy consumption (kw/m3) is usually 4550% to a large. On the other hand, the adsorptive desalination (AD) technology can produce three useful effects (i.e., highconcentration of concentrated water, high purity of fresh water and cold water for cooling) simultaneously using a low temperature (<80°C) heat source, and it works at low temperature (<30°C) and low pressure (< 10 kPa), so existing seawater desalination (MED, MSF and RO). In this study, physical characteristics of absorbents with moisture absorption and desorption were evaluated as important parts of AD. There were Geolite and Silica gel types of sorbent used, and four add-
