dc.description.abstract | In this study, the characteristics of hydrodynamic forces on a ship with heeling and trim angles due to damaged condition is investigated. The accuracy and reliability of input hydrodynamic coefficients are important both to MMG model and cross-flow model in towing stability analysis especially for damaged ships which have non-symmetric characteristics of hydrodynamic forces due to heel and trim angle. KVLCC2 is chosen to calculate added mass and damping coefficients by KRISO potential flow analysis code AdFlow, while a commercial CFD code StarCCM+ is adopted to calculate drag coefficients. The sensitivity of hydrodynamic forces to change of trim and heel angles due to damaged condition is to be investigated.Motion RAOs, wave drift forces, wave drift damping are also considered to investigate sensitivity to change of trim and heel angles. Finally the scatter of existing empirical data and regression forms on wind forces is discussed. | - |
