dc.description.abstractIn order for autonomous ships to be in service, it is necessary to secure the performance, reliability and safety not only for ships but also for applied technologies and equipment. To this end, a test environment and infrastructure has to be set to evaluate the performance of navigation awareness, engine control, fail-safety autonomous navigation, economic routing, cybersecurity, and so on. The major parts of onshore and offshore testbed infrastructure for verification of autonomous ships are introduced. The offshore sea trial testbed mainly consists of 20m class test vessel, virtual sea traffic generator, and sea test area. The offshore test centre building is constructed by Ulsan provincial government in the Go-neul district by mid of 2022. The major equipment and system to be set in the building are the simulation based testbed, the operation system for sea trial test including vessel traffic monitoring system, digital twin bridge and engine control monitoring and control system, and data platform. The preliminary plan for data flow between test systems and target systems is shown explaining the development project of evaluation & verification techniques for intelligent systems of autonomous ships.-
