dc.description.abstract | Due to climate change such as global warming, the distribution of covered ice in the Arctic regions continues to decrease. The needs to develop technology related to the Arctic offshore structures have been increasing. In this study, a newexperimental procedure was developed to evaluate the performance of floating offshore structures in the Arctic condition utilizing DP assisted mooring system that uses mooring system and dynamic position system simultaneously. The model test method was based on the ice water tank, and the mooring system utilizes the dry mooring system, and the DP system supports the mooring system to maximize station keeping performance. The procedures consists preparing the target model, preparing the mooring system, preparing the DP system, generating the ice conditions and performing the model test. The preparation of the target model involves the process of weight distribution to match inertia such as kxx, kyy, GMt and natural frequency of pitch and roll motion. Mooring system requires the process of installing dry mooring system for generating nonlinear mooring stiffness and the motion measurement system. DP system requires propulsion system, control systemand the motion measurement system. Ice model requires an ice production process suitable for the ice conditions. DP assisted mooring model tests will be carried out in ice tank in October using the procedure which is results of this study. | - |
