dc.description.abstract | In this paper, as one of the methods of prolonging the life of fuel cell electrodes, the nano-thick carbon shell was coated on the surface of the Platinum (Pt)-based catalyst. For carbon shell coating, polymeric material was stirred well with catalysts at room temperature and heat treatment was carried out in Ar atmosphere. Highly loaded Pt/C catalysts are typically applied to fuel cell applications such as ships or cars, which result in the agglomeration of adjacent metal particles during heat treatment for carbon coating. To prevent this, preheated carbon support was applied to the catalyst. After carbon coating, morphology was checked, and the mitigation of agglomeration was observed in highly-loaded Pt-based catalysts. | - |
