- Abstract
- Humanoid or anthropomorphic robot is a robot that resembles human in its function and appearance. Recently many humanoids have been developed and they will replace human in many areas. Even in maritime fields, we can expect to see a robot crew in the near future. To adapt robots to substitute human's role, we will need a performance metric for them. Some frontiers in robot research society have developed performance metrics and they are categorized into (1) robot intelligence metric and (2) human robot interactivity metric. In this paper, we consider the overall performance of a robot can be described with its intelligence and propose a robot performance evaluation criterion using Multiple Intelligence Theory. We evaluate two humanoid robots, AMI and Robovie, with the criterion and show the result of the evaluation.
