dc.description.abstractThis paper investigates the performance of hinged breakwater with multiple links by analyzing hydroelastic responses of breakwater-embedded VLFS. Direct method based on higher order boundary element method (HOBEM) and finite element method (FEM) is employed as a numerical tool to calculate hydroelastic responses such as displacements and stresses. One km-long VLFS with hinge-linked breakwater is considered in numerical example and responses are investigated by varying the number of hinge links to evaluate relation between the performance of breakwater and the number of hinge links.-
