dc.description.abstract | A vessel in waves is continuously influenced by wave exciting force and moment. Especially roll motion among the other mode of motions exerts mainly on crew's fatigue, which may reduce his operability to tactical situation. For this reason, many vessels have been equipped with active fin stabilizer which consists of a fin actuating system and a control unit. We designed and manufactured a control unit of the fin stabilizer of 500 ton-class vessel. Also, command I/O device which is an user interface between operator and stabilizing hardware has been developed. In this article, total control unit hardware was classified into sub-items, and then those design concepts, manufacturing results and communication parameters were described in detail. | - |
