Waste FRP ships thrown away in a port occur some problems related with ocean pollution and shipping safety. Because of the decrease of fishery output and the limit of fishing boasts by fishery agreement with neighboring nations, FRP disposal systems are expected sincerely. This study is focused on the environmental and economical self sustained melting of waste FRP ship. From the experimental results, the following conclusions can be drawn. Self sustained direct melting method was suggested for the optimal treatment of waste FRP ships. And 20 kg/hr scale pilot plant was composed for the design of practical system. From the operation of pilot plant, it is ascertained that stable operation can be maintained by using self heat energy. And exhaust gases can be purified by the application of existing gas cleaning unit.-
