dc.description.abstract | WIG (Wing In Ground-effect) crafts are novel type of high speed marine transportation and could be appreciated as crossover between ships and aircrafts. In order to implement the modern WIG craft design technology to build a feasible WIG craft, safety issues should be considered from the preliminary design-stage. The safety issues has being investigated since the beginning of WIG craft development in 1960s. Stability for operating WIG craft in ground-effect zone and collision avoidance are keys for the safety issues. This paper describes the safety issues and the methodology to secure safety in WIG craft development. | - |
