dc.description.abstractThe applicability of the berthing container ship on floating hybrid quay wall(HQW) is studied in this paper. A series of model tests with 1/100 scale ratio in regular and irregular waves were carried out at shallow basin, KORDI. The simulated motion responses using higher order boundary element method(HOBEM) also have been compared with the test results, and the applicability of HQW with berthing of ship is discussed. On the basis of the measured maximum mooring force and acceleration of crane, the workability of berthing of container ship on HQW is also discussed. An alternative design of HQW in severe design wave is also presented and discussed.-
