dc.description.abstractTo enhance a ship's survivability, each elements of susceptibility, vulnerability and recoverability have to be considered in early acquisition phase. In a view point of life cycle cost, each chosen technology in design phase will rise up life cycle ownership cost and complexity of ship operation. For this reason, a reasonable way to compromise technological requirements and application level is needed. Risk based approach is considerable to make risk model and survivability assessment process since it serves reasonable process of identifying hazards, risk analysis and assessment process. In this paper, risk based approach has been studied to build up survivability assessment process and to propose a risk model for naval vessel.-
