dc.description.abstract | Typically, sea trials of newly constructed ships are conducted under ballast draft condition, and the added resistance in waves is one of the crucial factors for analyzing trial results. This study estimated the added resistance of the KLNGC ship, under ballast draft condition. To achieve this, model test was conducted at the DOEB (Deep Ocean Engineering Basin) in Busan. In the model tests, a soft-mooring technique was applied, and experiments were carried out at both the designed speed and a lower speed of 4 knots. Both scenarios, with and without propulsion-induced thrust, were tested to compare the results. Furthermore, the motion and added resistance results were examined for different wave heights to assess the nonlinear behavior concerning wave height. | - |
