dc.description.abstract | Adsorption desalination (AD) technology can simultaneously produce high-concentration concentrated water and fresh water using a low-temperature (<80°C) heat source, low temperature (<30°C) and low pressure (<10kPa). Therefore, compared to existing seawater desalination technologies (MED, MSF, RO), fouling and scale generation can be minimized, and thus it is eco-friendly by minimizing the use of chemicals in the pretreatment process. However, AD technology has limitations in freshwater production. In this study, we developed a complex process that can solve the lack of freshwater production, which was pointed out as a disadvantage of the existing AD process, by applying a 3bed-MED process. Additionally, it was possible to overcome the limitations of high concentration of existing seawater desalination methods. | - |
