dc.description.abstract | Recently the interest on wind propulsion ships is increasing as the interest on eco-friendly ship for carbon neutrality is increasing. Rotor sail, wing sail, soft sail, kite etc. are applied as wind propulsion system. Wind propulsion ship usually operates in reduced propeller loading due to additional thrust by wind propulsion system. And additional side force is acted to the ship by wind propulsion system, so the ship is operating in drift motion at steady state. In this study model tests at the towing tank were carried out to investigate the effect on propulsive factors in reduced propeller loading and drift motion. Target ship is Ksupramax(KRISO Supramax class Bulk Carrier), and self propulsion and static drift tests were carried out on 100% loading and reduced loading conditions. Self propulsion test was carried out by resistance/self propulsion equipment, and static drift test was done by PMM(Planar Motion mechanism) equipment. Wake fraction, thrust deduction factor and quasi-propulsive efficiency were predicted by using measured data. The effect on propulsive factors and test method are investigated through model tests at the towing tank. | - |
