dc.description.abstract | SIMMAN Workshops (Workshop on Verification and Validation of Ship Manoeuvring Simulation Methods) were held in 2008 and 2014. The captive and free running test results of KVLCC1, KVLCC2, KCS and 5415M were opened in 2008 and 2014. Many simulation results by system-based method and CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) were submitted and analyzed. The model test results of KVLCC2, KCS and ONR tumblehome were opened in SIMMAN2020. And the new results of free running test in waves for KCS and ONR tumblehome were provided as well. In this study, the manoeuvring performance of KVLCC2 was predicted by using the system-based method. 3 degrees of freedom modular type mathematical model was used forthe manoeuvring simulations. Hydrodynamic coefficients were estimated by analyzing PMM data of HMRI. This paper presents the mathematical model, estimated hydrodynamic coefficients and simulation results. Hydrodynamic coefficients and manoeuvring performances are compared with other simulation researches and free running model test of MARIN. | - |
