KRISO Joins Automated Port Development and Education Partnership

▶ MOU with Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority and Mokpo National Maritime University

▶ Joint development of platform technology for automated ports, and customized training of personnel for industry demand



□ The Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean engineering (hereinafter KRISO, President Booki Kim) announced the signing an MOU with Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority and Mokpo National Maritime University on the 25th for cooperation between industry, university and government-funded research on the development of Gwangyang Port, customized training of personnel for enterprise demand, and R&D on port automation and platform technologies.


□ This MOU ceremony was attended by key personnel including President Booki Kim of KRISO, CEO Park Sung-hyeon of Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority, and President Han Won-hee of the National Mokpo Maritime University.


□ The three institutions agreed to actively cooperate in the areas of △ development of platform services for automated port (port IoT network, devices, digital twin etc.), use of port facilities for testing, △ training of personnel and jobs creation in the automated port industry, and △ support for on-site learning to train skills required in real world industry. 


□ KRISO President Booki Kim assured that“KRISO will play an active role in enhancing port productivity and training outstanding talent based on experience in developing technologies for port automation such as the high speed 3D container inspection system.”
